Day Care Centres

At a day care centre, early childhood education is arranged on a full or part-time basis in accordance with the needs of the family. Moreover, evening and round-the-clock care can be arranged at a few day care centres to suit parents’ jobs or studies. Tuusula offers municipal and private day care, as well as private group family day care centres. You can find information about day care centres in the list of “Day Care Centres by Area”.

Municipal day care centres are open from 6:30 am to 5 pm, and if needed from 6 am to 6 pm. Evening care until 10 pm is offered by Notkopuisto Day Care Centre(Jokela) and Torppari Day Care Centre (Kellokoski).

The day care centres have groups for children under 3 years old, 3 to 5-year-olds, 1 to 5-year-olds and 6-year-olds (preschool instruction). The size of the groups is based on the Act on Children’s Day Care. The ratio of staff to children is 1:4 in groups with children under 3 years old, and 1:7 in groups with children over 3 years old.

The Kievari Day Care Centre in Tuusula and the Trollebo private day care centre in Kervo offer Swedish-language day care.

English-language day care is offered in Kervo at the Kiddy House day care and in Vantaa at the Y.E.S. day care.
German-language day care is offered in Kervo at the Spielhaus day care.

The day care centres’ activities are based on a national plan, as well as on The Municipality of Tuusula’s plan for early childhood education. An individual plan for early childhood education can be prepared for each child together with its guardian.
